Information & Conditions of Hire (E. & O.A)

TERMS:

Campervans & Motorhome hires: Operators terms and conditions vary and are detailed on the operators own web site or published brochure.

Last minute cancellation charges are usually quite high and should always be checked. The deposit needed to secure a vehicle differs operator by operator but is never normally less than NZ$300 or 10% of the total hire price excluding C.D.W.  Final payment for most vehicle hire is normally payable to Go-Kiwi Travel U.K.Limited approx 42/30 days  prior to collection of the booked vehicle as defined by our Principals to enable us to arrange for the transfer of funds.

Payment: Clients can settle by credit card or bank cheque or bank to bank transfer via GO-Kiwi who then arrange funding transfers Bank to Bank at no extra cost to the client. Where a client settles by credit card, some operators, not all, add a fee of between 2% and 3%  to the balance of hire (not the deposit). Clients will be guided on this by GO-Kiwi when our initial Pro-forma invoice is sent to you. Please note: A credit card surcharge of 3% will apply if a client elects to pay for International Flights by credit card. This is the norm within the industry.

PLEASE NOTE: Pre-payments will not effect your right to cancel if necessary and any refunds are settled as soon as the overseas operators transfer the refund to Go-Kiwi in the U.K. We strongly recommend you arrange travel health insurance to enable you to recover any cancellations charges levied due to sickness or incapacity or other circumstances beyond your control.

All Campervan/Motorhome clients receive a Campsite map and location directory at pick-up. Many operators also include money saving discount vouchers. All booking clients receive a very useful “Information and Tips” publication and can request a full personal itinerary from Go-Kiwi if needed.

DISCOUNTS:  Go Kiwi are pleased to negotiate discounts with clients booking main services through Go-Kiwi. Discounts vary according to the length of hire and other requirements booked and represent a worthwhile saving to clients. Go-Kiwi can usually match any rate quoted by Overseas Operators direct except for the occasional “special” offered by some companies for Web Site only bookings. Normally these operators stipulate “for online bookings only” .

Please feel free to contact GO-Kiwi Travel and discuss your requirements with Ray Whent our Managing Director by Email, Fax or Telephone, he will be happy to assist and advise you without obligation.

WITH GO KIWI THERE ARE NO FEES OR COMMISSIONS PAYABLE

GIVE US A TRY, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED

All Campervans/Motorhomes come fully equipped with cooking and cleaning utensils. Linen provided is usually duvets, sleeping bags, sheets and pillowcases together with kitchen, bath and hand towels. Please check each operators specifications for a full onboard inventory.

Van Rating: Whilst vehicles in general are of a very high standard, the larger operators tend to build their own vehicles and change them every two years which is reflected in the price, such newer vans are generally better appointed.  Due to the geographical location of hire vehicles, it is impossible for GO-Kiwi to check, or be held responsible, for the age or standard of vehicles supplied and the equipment therein. Most vehicle hire operators work on the principal of “first booked, first served” which means clients booking early normally get allocated the best and  possibly newer vans.

The description of the service and inventory offered can be inspected on the operators own website and clients are urged to fully check this before booking. In the event you have a specific request GO-Kiwi will gladly check this out and advise operators able to comply with such requests. Few operators actually produce brochures, if any hire company provides GO-Kiwi with  brochures these are sent to clients requesting information.

Pre-acceptance check:  GO-Kiwi strongly recommend all clients take the time at pickup to check the hire vehicle inventory to ensure all equipment and onboard supplies are available. Please also ask the depot to demonstrate how the onboard equipment works (Ovens/Micro’s/Plumbing, electric toilet/showers, heaters/aircon etc.,) and where spares (fuses/tyres/tools) and other essentials are stored. Quite often clients fail to check out their vehicle before departing and then find they are unable to activate certain equipment which is strange to them. It is important you do familiarise yourself with onboard workings before leaving the depot. In the event clients experience problems they should contact the emergency number provided by the operator to get the matter resolved there and then and not wait until the end of the hire to complain.

Collision Damage Waiver:  C.D.W for Cars, Campers & Motorhomes to be settled direct with the operator at the first pick-up depot. On arriving to collect vehicles clients will be given a choice of available cover. Most operators include basic standard insurance cover in their base rates, however, to find out what this actually covers, clients should look at the operators own website specifications as cover varies operator to operator.

DRIVERS AGE RESTRICTION: Australia and New Zealand: Driver must be 21 years to 75 years of age. For drivers 75 years or over there are restrictions that vary Company by Company but generally a medical certificate stating that the customer is fit to drive for the duration of the hire is sufficient. Contact your G.P for this certificate. Go-Kiwi will advise which companies (such as MAUI and BRITZ) welcome drivers over 75 years of age.
